Jounieh
is a city big city on the northern part of The
area of Kaslik and Nahr el Kalb are known for the night life, packed with
night clubs and pubs, giving you a multiple choices between oriental and
occidental ambiances. Jounieh
is a conserving the basic signs of archaeology of Lebanon, plaques
representing all the civilizations that passed on the Lebanese grounded
have been sculpted on the massive cliff of Nahr el Kaleb (the Dog River),
since the Egyptians, Hittites, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, till the
French, and British early in the 20th century & and final
independence plaque representing the end of conquests. This site should be
visited, because it resumes all the Lebanese history. A
bit more up on the hills, the sanctuary of the Virgin Mary in the region
of Harissa, an impressing view, giving you the possibility to see the
region of Jounieh and a part of Beirut. And we should never miss the impressing grotto of Jeita, where you can be touched by the magical stalactites and Stalagmites. Jeita Grotto is formed of two galleries inaugurated between 1958 and 1969. The visits of all the parts and the transportations are included with the few. |
